And we’re at Cedar Point for Passholder ERT night on Millennium Force and Maverick! Though on the way in there’s a warning that some rides may be closed today due to weather conditions. 😦
Gatekeeper does look beautiful looming over the entrance area, too bad the ride isn’t as great as it looks.
With it being a Saturday and the lines somewhat long, time to check out some Dinosaurs!
Adventure Island does give you some great views of the Force.
And Dragster is rolling back! Saw a few rollbacks today, unfortunately I wasn’t on it when they happened. 😦
Hey look dinosaur guts!
Maybe this guy was the culprit.
Millennium barreling down the first hill way in the distance.
Close up shot of a Millennium fly-by.
You can feel the vibrations in the supports on Millennium as soon as the train drops down that first hill. This ride sure does have a lot of power.
One day this T-Rex is gonna get a tasty snack of a Millennium rider one day.
Yellow train coming down off the hill onto Adventure Island.
Do the James Bond! We’re making sure Camp Snoopy is safe. haha
Pipe Scream is down. 😦 This ride is having a bunch of problems this year, must be that new ride syndrome. 😛
Gemini is running both sides today!
This coaster is so much better when racing. It’s really boring if they are only running one side.
Decided to try out the Eagles today since I didn’t get around to it on media day. Pretty fun ride actually, will definitely be back to ride them again this year.
Iron Dragon looming over the pond in the light drizzle. Sadly it’s not running at the moment.
Corkscrew midway shot. A bunch of rides are down at the moment because of the rain.
Mantis is open though!!!
Really surprised the line wasn’t longer considering it was one of the few rides open at the time.
Mantis climbing the lift.
A shot of the brake run and tilted loop. The tilted loop is definitely my favorite part of the ride.
Stand up straight with your feet back and head against the headrest. Seats locking in 3.. 2… 1… 😛
There’s a line of people waiting for Iron Dragon to reopen. Seriously?
Cedar Downs is running. So time to hit that up, however there’s no garden in the middle this year just mulch. Hopefully they spruce that up later in the season.
With the sky clearing up Raptor is entertaining riders.
The inline twist on Raptor is by far the best part of the ride. Love the snap effect you get in this part as well.
Though the first hill is also a great part of the ride.
Gatekeeper does look a lot better than the big ugly building that used to be there. 😛
We’re all hungry so time to get some food! Signed up for the season long dining plan for $72 and it’s really a great deal. I was able to get a hotdog and fries on my plan and that normally would be $12 for that meal alone. Looks like I might have to come to the Point more often just to eat. haha
The clouds are rolling back in, look’s like it’s going to rain again. 😦
Wicked Twister is running in the rain. Surprising as it’s an Inverted coaster and usually the Point closes those first.
These riders are about to get launched at speeds up to 72 MPH.
The sign lights up pretty nice in the dark.
Lake Erie beach shot! Notice all the seagulls gathered.
Back row, the only seat to ride Wicked Twister in.
In the back you get a few extra twists up the one side, as opposed to rows close to the front of the train.
And it’s raining heavy here at the Point. 😦
The rain has gone away and the sun is shining!
Cedar Point water tower illuminated by the sun.
Time to get a ride on Power Tower. Still the only ride that manages to scare me at the Point. Love those drop towers.
Labatt? What are we back in Canada? 😛
Iron Dragon is testing. Hopefully getting ready to open back up!
And it’s open! Time to enjoy some Arrow Suspended goodness.
Rainy Iron Dragon wheel shot.
From our view on Iron Dragon we noticed Dragster had opened up, and look no line!
My friend’s first time on Dragster he wanted to wait for a time when there was no line. Well looks like that is today!
The Christmas tree is lit, you’re clear for launch!
Keep arms down, head back, and hold on!
Dragster station selfie! You can tell he’s still not too excited to ride.
And we’ll be on the next train! Everyone enjoyed their ride, even if someone almost chickened out at the last second. 😛
The new Gemini midway at night!
Everyone wanted to give Monster a shot. I agreed only because it’s a different color this year and has neon lights. 😛
Pipe Scream when will you ever open?
Last ride before ERT is Mean Streak!
As we’re waiting to get over to Mean Streak apparently they are parking the train for the night. So we had to wait a few minutes.
And we’re on! It is a little smoother this year but not by much. We got two rides in and we were on the last train of the night!
Maverick is having mechanical difficulties at the moment so looks like we’re heading over to Millennium for ERT.
As we get over to Millennium turns out it’s also closed for the moment. Time to entertain ourselves in line as Matt tries out some silver teeth. 😛 Looks like Jaws.
After about a 20 minute wait it’s open! Got two rides in before deciding to call it a night.
As we’re walking back decided to grab this shot of Dragster all illuminated at night.
And another fun day at the Point. Wish Maverick would have stayed open for ERT but I’ll get on it later this year for sure. See ya for Coastermania Cedar Point!
