Since you all are probably getting tired of Cedar Point updates I’m going to try something a little different for this one. A slightly new format that will definitely be used from here on out. Also I promise this update will include some new things not seen in other Cedar Point updates such as ice skating and fireworks! Plus I haven’t been to Cedar Point since getting my new zoom lens so got some new shots in this update as well. So let’s begin….

Another look at the beach, slightly overcast day. However it’s perfect weather not too hot and not too cold. Couldn’t ask for a better day to be at the park!
Now it was time to try and get a shot that is only lined up perfectly for just a second. I had seen other people get this shot so I wanted to try my hand at it. The only way to get this angle is from the sky ride, which I had ridden a few times to get this shot. Figured out a few new camera modes also to make it easier to obtain. Pretty happy with the result.
But what we’re really here for is great views of Millennium Force’s first hill!
Let’s see how Shoot the Rapids is doing. Even though this ride gets a lot of hate, and I’m sure the accident last year didn’t help, I still rather enjoy the ride. Bummed that Holiday World took their version out this year and I never got to ride it. Oh well hopefully they’ll be replacing it with something much better. 🙂

It’s another photogenic ride at the park, and I love capturing people’s reactions right before they get soaked. 😛
Let’s head back down the midway because it’s time to see a show for the first time this year. What show you ask?
I must say pretty neat how this year’s show combined parts of Cirque Du Soleil with ice skating. It’s definitely a new twist for the show, but let’s get back to some ice skating!
Overall pretty good show, like I said it was different to see them incorporate other aspects besides ice skating into the show. Definitely made it more exciting!

The people in the front row look like they’re having a great time on Mantis. And why wouldn’t they I’ve quite enjoyed it this year. 🙂
Time to head over to the Dragster area to see what kind of shots I can get with my new lens.
I absolutely LOVE these shots, so after that how about a celebratory ride on none other than…..
Dragster crew was absolutely killing it today! Train’s were being dispatched very fast and the wait was a mere 25 minutes. That’s nuts for a Saturday in July, let alone a holiday weekend!

Took some photographs of Corkscrew because I don’t think I’ve given it any love yet this year, or rides for that matter. haha

My friend John kept trying to get us on it, but yeah think we’ll save this headache machine for another day.
Well after a quick meal it was about time to head over to the beach to get a spot for the fireworks tonight.
But first let’s get a twilight ride on Windseeker!
As always Cedar Point puts on a spectacular fireworks show, but don’t take my word for it. Check out this video via CPRundown.com of the fireworks at Cedar Point this year. Well to avoid the mess that is the parking lot after the fireworks, let’s head back into the park for a few more rides.
Mean Streak has been running great this year, and tonight was no exception. It could very well have been the best ride I’ve had on Mean Streak in years, it was very smooth. Although I was in the front seat, the summer breeze felt great and it was just an all around great ride. Perfect way to end the night. Well that’s it for the Cedar Point updates until Halloweekends I promise. 😛
